All About Me:
This is my ninth year at IHS. Prior to Interboro, I attended Temple University (Go Owls!) for both my Bachelor's (History with a minor in Italian Language) and Master's (Education) degrees. While I was at Temple, I played volleyball for a while, which took me all the way to China!
I am an avid follower of current events; It is very interesting to see how current events have been so influenced by happenings in the past! I also love to travel, though now it's mostly through reading that I "see the world." I have one cat at home named Kitten, a little girl named Joelle, and a handsome little boy named Owen. I have been married for seven years, and yes, my husband Matthew is 1 1/2 feet taller than I!
Mission For My Classes:
If you are enrolled in US History, I want you to leave this class in June with a general understanding of how American cutlure and politics has evolved over the past century. I want you to become engaged with the history we are making today. If you are enrolled in AP World History, obviously I want you to pass your exam in May so you earn college credit, but more importantly I want you understand how interconnected the world is and has always been. I also want you to leave class humbled by how much has happened in history that has shaped who we are as a people and nation today. I want all of my students to be able to easily read maps, charts and tables, to critically think, and to question those things that are considered to be "truths."
